Fabricated vs Stamped, whats the difference?
People will see when they’re buying a lawn mower that majority of the time it will say whether its fabricated or stamped. Some people don’t even pay attention to this difference, some wonder what does fabricated and stamped mean? Below will explain the difference between the two mower decks.
Is your mower fabricated?
The fabricated mower deck is typically built from heavier steel plate and is welded together. This does not mean its necessarily better but it does look stronger.
Fabricated decks are more often used in commercial applications and will have superior rigidity(keeps its shape). Meant to face longer wear and tear by being used more often.
Should you get a stamped deck instead?
The stamped deck is just stamped out of a single piece of steel, usually a thinner metal compared to the fabricated deck. Typically lighter in weight.
They frequently have better air flow, and are more flexible in their capabilities. If your the average person who mows their lawn once a week, this mower deck is perfect for your needs.
When comparing the mower decks they both have advantages and disadvantages. It all comes down to what you prefer, how much you’ll be using your mower, and what your more comfortable buying when looking at lawn mowers.
